LAIN publishes new climate impact figures to mark London Climate Action Week 2025

London Climate Action Week, taking place 19-21 June, is the largest city-wide climate festival in Europe, harnessing London’s unique power as a climate leader for global and local climate action.

London Anchor Institutions’ Network (LAIN) has pledged to take action on climate change and help build a fairer, greener, more prosperous London for all.

To coincide with this important awareness-raising week, LAIN has published its latest collective impact figures, evidencing how through coordinated action, LAIN members have tackled the climate the emergency.

In just four years, supported by the Mayor of London, collectively members of LAIN have:

  • Saved 186,000+ tonnes of CO2e - equivalent to the electricity consumption of 120,900 average households for a year

  • Delivered climate-related training to 12,500+ staff

  • Secured £200m to invest in decarbonisation projects to create more sustainable, energy-efficient buildings and estates

London’s anchor organisations recognise that the climate emergency is the single most significant threat to our city right now.

The power of collective action has never been more important, so we’re proud to be recognised by London’s Deputy Mayor Mete Coban as an excellent example of collaborative action. This week he said;

“The London Anchor Institutions’ Network is a great example of how we can use collective power to drive climate action in London and create a greener, more resilient city for all Londoners.”
